Celebrating The Creative Past of LUNA Fest

Each year, LUNA Fest transforms downtown Revelstoke into a vibrant open-air gallery, showcasing installation art, performances, and light-based works from talented local and visiting artists. Explore the archives below to revisit the creativity and community spirit that have lit up past festivals.

2025 | "disguise and transformation"

This year, the theme for LUNA Festival is “disguise and transformation”. This theme reflects the transformation that happens when the downtown core of Revelstoke transforms into an art gallery, performance centre and community gathering space.

Based in Nelson, BC, Moving Mosaic Samba Band blends global rhythms, dance, and community spirit into vibrant, roving performances that inspire joy.
Spirit and Tradition explores reciprocity and sustainability through Northwest Coast Indigenous dance, imagery, sound, and puppetry.
Every hour, striped aerial figures twist through darkness, telling wordless stories of transformation.
The unmasking of an unwanted life. Release yourself from a world where you are just another number and break free of the corporate machine. Who are you and where do you really desire to be?
Sasha Galitzki’s aerial performance art merges acrobatics with mountain adventure to explore our relationship with wild places, and with our own limits.
The body becomes the sketch.
Meta/fauna presents two shape-shifting creatures evolving in their ephemeral habitat through cycles of evolution, and transformation.

This interactive installation invites LUNA Fest participants to collect visual layers using hand stamps on a 5x7" card. Four stamps in 4 stations, culminating in a final image. The artwork corresponds with the inspired poem on the reverse, The Understory.

2024 | "in contrast"

The theme of this year’s LUNA Fest is “In Contrast.” Embracing the notion that comparison reveals both our differences and our connections, “In Contrast” invites attendees to explore the dynamic interplay of visible opposites. From the juxtaposition of large and small, sharp and blurry, to the interplay of light and dark, this year’s installations will deliberately highlight contrasts, sparking unexpected narratives and deeper contemplation. Seeking to create a space where discomfort and satisfaction intersect, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of art’s diverse perspectives and expressions, this is LUNA In Contrast.

Theremin Man combines theremin music, mesmerizing beats, and Stephen Hamm’s vocal stylings in a mystical, theatrical experience with spacey projections.

The 2023 Luna Fest theme, Growth, celebrated Revelstoke’s evolving arts culture. Attendees were invited to evolve, rise, and flourish, much like the lunar cycle that inspired the festival’s name, symbolizing creativity, renewal, and the ever-growing artistic spirit of the community.
