Feathers are another form of Memory, part 1

"Feathers" reflects on the Tahltan Creation Story, exploring light, darkness, and the ongoing cosmology, imagining T’sesk’iye Chō's role in releasing and returning the light.

Feathers are another form of memory is made to honour how Tahltan knowledge is still performed by people who have Alzheimer’s. We enter into this part of the knowledge journey after T’sesk’iye Chō has found and stolen the light to be shared with the rest of us.

About Peter Morin

Peter Morin, a Tahltan artist, focuses on four key themes in his work: Indigenous land knowledge, grief, community, and the creative power of the Indigenous body. His diverse 20-year practice spans printmaking, poetry, beadwork, and performance art, drawing on dreams, ancestors, and matrilineal teachings. Morin’s work often involves collaboration, both in galleries and on the land, challenging colonial structures through cross-ancestral partnerships. Notable achievements include being longlisted for the Brink and Sobey Awards (2013, 2014) and receiving the Hnatyshyn Foundation Award in 2016. He is currently Graduate Program Director at OCAD University and serves as an advisor on Indigenous Knowledge.
