About Murmur Arts Collective

Murmur is a growing collective of multidisciplinary artists based on Vancouver Island, BC. The Murmur Arts Collective supports innovative art projects in smaller cities and communities, particularly in their home base of Nanaimo. Their mission is to connect artists through co-creation projects, workshops, and Open Floor events.

In 2023, Murmur made its debut with The Circuit at the Otherworld Festival, an acclaimed improvised piece where 11 dancers, dressed in full checkerboard bodysuits, “murmured” throughout the festival grounds.

Murmur’s largest ongoing project is a bilingual dance-theatre outdoor performance titled Voices In the Body. This performance explores the fusion of improvised and choreographed movement, utilizing silent disco technology to create a unique and immersive experience.
