About Sylvie Roussel-Janssens

Sylvie Roussel-Janssens was born in Montreal and has lived in British Columbia since 1980. A graduate with honours from Emily Carr College of Art in 1984, she resides in Chilliwack on the traditional and unceded territory of the Stóō people. Her work, which reflects her interests in history and the environment, is sustainable and rooted in the joy of the building process. Sylvie’s light sculptures are constructed from welded wire and fabric or plastic, often using recycled materials. Her creative journey continues at the intersection of art, craft, and design.
