Get Involved with Luna Fest

LUNA Fest is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team for the weekend of LUNA Fest. Volunteer positions are available for LUNA Arts, and paid positions are available for LUNA Arts and LUNA Sound. These positions will be short-term and will involve working closely with the LUNA Fest Producer, Production Assistant, Venue Manager, and venue/event staff and volunteers to help ensure the success of the LUNA Sound and Arts events.

Volunteer Positions

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the setup and teardown of LUNA Arts.
  • Providing brochures, directions, and information to attendees.
  • Helping to ensure the safety of LUNA Arts attendees, artists, staff, and volunteers.

 

Requirements:
  • LUNA Fest volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Paid Positions

We encourage folks to apply for positions on both Friday and Saturday. Check out all positions below.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing one of four LUNA Sound stages.
  • Assisting Tech Leader and Tech Hand with stage set-up and artist load-in and soundcheck.
  • Overseeing the setup and teardown of the venue.
  • Liaising with artists with the support of an Artist Liaison and ensuring that the event runs according to the production schedule.
  • Coordinating venue volunteers.
  • Maintaining communication with and providing updates to LUNA Fest Producer, Production Assistant, Tech Leader, Tech Hand, Artist Liaison, Merchandise Attendant, Gate Attendant, and volunteers.

Position-specific requirements:

  • This position requires an individual who is organized and detail-oriented, capable of adhering to a production schedule, has excellent communication skills, and a high degree of self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • While not required, it is desirable that applicants have managerial experience, and/or experience in arts programming/event management.

Responsibilities:

  • Hosting 2-3 performing artists from their arrival until the end of their performance.
  • Managing one of four LUNA Sound green rooms.
  • Ensuring that green rooms are stocked with food and water.
  • Communicating with the Venue Manager, Producer, and Production Assistant regarding artist’s requests.
  • Liaising with the artist and ensuring that the event runs according to the production schedule.
  • Managing the artist’s merchandise and liaising with the Merchandise Attendant to keep track of sales.
  • Ensuring that green rooms are clean after the event.

Position-specific requirements:

  • This position requires an individual who is organized and detail-oriented, capable of adhering to a production schedule, and has excellent communication and problem-solving skills and a high degree of self-motivation.
  • While not required, it is desirable that applicants have: Managerial experience, and/or experience in arts programming/event management.

Responsibilities:

  • Checking tickets at one of four LUNA Sound venues.
  • Checking IDs to ensure LUNA Sound is accessed strictly by persons 19+.
  • Assisting the Tech Leader, Tech Hand, and Venue Manager with stage set-up and artist load-in and soundcheck.
  • Assisting with the setup and teardown of the venue.
  • Assisting security personnel.

Requirements:

  • This position requires an individual who is organized and detail-oriented, capable of adhering to a production schedule, has excellent communication skills, and a high degree of self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • While not required, it is desirable that applicants have experience in security provision, and/or event management.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and selling LUNA Fest and performing artist’s merchandise at one of four LUNA Sound venues.
  • Handling cash and taking credit/debit card payments using Arts Revelstoke’s Square reader.
  • Assisting Venue Manager with setup and teardown of the venue.
  • Communicating all sales of LUNA Fest merchandise to the Venue Manager.
  • Communicating all sales of the artist’s merchandise to the Artist Liaison.
  • Providing information about LUNA Fest to attendees.

Requirements:

  • This position requires an individual who is organized and detail-oriented, capable of adhering to a production schedule, has good communication skills, and a high degree of self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • While not required, it is desirable that applicants have sales experience and/or experience as event staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and coordinating all volunteers on Saturday, September 21, 2024 for the duration of the LUNA Arts event.
  • Ensuring that volunteers understand the festival layout, logistics, and safety protocol.
  • Overseeing volunteer breaks.
  • Maintaining communication with and providing updates to LUNA Fest Producer, Production Assistant, Quadrant Managers, and Operations Support.
  • Checking volunteers in and out of their shifts.

Requirements:

  • This position requires an individual who is organized and detail-oriented, capable of adhering to an event schedule, has excellent communication skills, and a high degree of self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • While not required, it is desirable that applicants have: Managerial experience, and/or experience in arts programming/event management.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing one of four LUNA Arts quadrants from the LUNA Arts info booth.
  • Greeting LUNA Arts visitors and handing out maps and brochures.
  • Assisting with the setup and teardown of the assigned quadrant.
  • Overseeing and coordinating volunteers in the assigned quadrant; ensuring volunteers have breaks.
  • Reporting any concerns to the production team.
  • Maintaining communication with and providing updates to the LUNA Fest Producer, Production Assistant, Volunteer Manager, and volunteers.

Requirements:

  • This position requires an individual who is organized and detail-oriented, capable of adhering to a production schedule, has excellent communication skills, and a high degree of self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • While not required, it is desirable that applicants have: Managerial experience, and/or experience in arts programming/event management.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering equipment and supplies across the LUNA Arts venue.
  • Supporting volunteers with any technical setup and tear-down, including setting up scaffolding and black-out lighting and transporting heavy equipment.
  • Maintaining communication with and providing updates to LUNA Fest Producer, Production Assistant, artists, Volunteer Manager, Quadrant Managers, and volunteers.

Requirements:

  • This position requires an individual who is organized and detail-oriented, capable of adhering to a production schedule, has excellent communication skills, and a high degree of self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • This position requires lifting and transporting materials and equipment that may be heavy and/or delicate.
  • This position requires a driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the LUNA Arts green room.
  • Ensuring that green rooms are stocked with food and water.
  • Communicating with the Quadrant Managers, LUNA Fest Producer, and Production Assistant regarding artist’s requests.
  • Liaising with the artist and ensuring that the event runs according to the production schedule.
  • Ensuring that green rooms are clean after the event.
  • Assisting with the setup and cleanup from performances.
  • Reporting any concerns to the production team.
  • Maintaining communication with and providing updates to the Quadrant Managers, LUNA Fest Producer, Production Assistant.

Rate of pay:
$18-$20 depending on position and experience.
