Kristen has a background in the performing arts, with experience in theatre, choir, and dance. She grew up dancing competitively in contemporary, ballet, hip hop, and jazz, and more recently served as the creative director and instructor for adult dance classes in Ucluelet, BC.
In 2024, she moved to Revelstoke from coastal BC to return to her roots in the Rocky Mountains, pursue adventure sports, and foster community connections. She is passionate about weaving together creativity, science, and policy—an approach that shapes both her personal and professional life.
Kristen is trained as a wildlife biologist and holds a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Wildlife Ecology. She is the Director of Habitat, Climate, and Policy at the conservation NGO, Raincoast Conservation Foundation, and is a Visiting Researcher with the University of Victoria’s POLIS Project on Wildfire Resilience.
