History

Arts Revelstoke has been in operation for over 60 years and was re-incorporated and re-energized in May of 1997 as a new society Revelstoke Arts Council. We recently re-branded and are now operating as Arts Revelstoke, Revelstoke’s powerhouse arts and cultural leader.

Arts Revelstoke manages the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre which opened its doors in 2012 and hosts a wide variety of events every year.

Programming

Arts Revelstoke presents an annual Performance Series and Family Series of professional shows at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre alongside a multicultural movie series, Movies in the Mountains.

Arts Revelstoke produces a number of festivals, including the award-winning REVY.Live Outside, has been running for over 30 years, and the ever-popular LUNA – Nocturnal Art & Wonder. We responded to the COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings by creating an outdoor micro-series, Guerrilla Gigs, in the summer of 2020.

Public Art & Outreach

Arts Revelstoke is also the engine behind Art Alleries, a new large scale public art project featuring unique outdoor art installed on alleyway walls throughout Revelstoke’s downtown core.

Arts Revelstoke values engagement and collaboration with community partners and other cultural organizations. We offer free tickets to vulnerable community groups, program ArtStarts performances in schools, run engagement projects, residencies and camps, manage CKCA community funding and offer a Revelstoke Secondary School university scholarship annually.

Arts Revelstoke staff also offer informal support and mentorship to local artists and non-profits.
