Arts Revelstoke will host our annual general meeting on June 26th at the Regent Hotel. As we say goodbye to three of our lovely directors, we are looking for new board members to join us in our mission of enriching arts and culture in Revelstoke!

About Us:
Arts Revelstoke spearheads arts and culture programming in our city. As a non-profit, registered charity, and local arts council, we are dedicated to fostering a thriving arts scene year-round. From our electrifying REVY.Live Outside summer street music series to the enchanting LUNA Fest, where we celebrate nocturnal art in all its forms, and our curated Performance Series at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre, we offer diverse programming that ignites the imagination and celebrates our community’s talents.

In addition to our signature events, we sponsor local artists and events, host workshops, and run programs like our beloved Circus Camp, providing affordable creative experiences for children. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we’re passionate about creating opportunities to grow arts and culture in Revelstoke.

Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking individuals who share our passion and vision to join our board. Whether you’re new to board service but brimming with enthusiasm for what we do, or you’re an experienced leader eager to lend your expertise to our cause, we welcome you to apply.

What It Means to Be a Board Member:
Being a board member at Arts Revelstoke is a fulfilling commitment that involves:

– Attending monthly board meetings (approx. 3 hours)
– Volunteering at one show per month or taking on a volunteer shift
– Active involvement in at least one committee (2-6 hours monthly)
– Preparing for board meetings and completing tasks (approx. 6-12 hours monthly)
– Engaging with the community and promoting arts and culture
– A two-year commitment (with the option to extend for up to six years)

Next Steps:
Applications will be reviewed by our nominations committee, and a final slate of candidates will be selected. We’ll keep all applicants informed throughout the process and offer alternative ways to get involved if you’re not selected for the board.

*Note: Applicants must be at least 17 years old. Terms are two years, with a maximum of three terms or six years of service. Our Board includes a Chair, Co-chair, Vice-chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. The final board will consist of 3 to 11 members.*

General Manager
With a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in communications, journalism and adventure studies, Nora is an expert at connecting with audiences. She’s worked as a guide, journalist, copywriter and freelance writer. Nora moved to Revelstoke in 2021 for its proximity to adventure activities but stayed for the vibrant community. As an art enthusiast, she appreciates the huge role Arts Revelstoke plays in building the diverse, cultural arts community she has come to know and love. She’s excited to join the team and use her skills to tell Arts Revelstoke’s story.
