Arts Revelstoke is very excited to be offering a new position through Young Canada Works!
Are you passionate about public art, community engagement, and event planning? Arts Revelstoke is seeking a creative and dedicated individual to join our team. In this role, you’ll help manage public art installations, coordinate community events like the Truth and Reconciliation Day commemoration event and LUNA Fest, and lead outreach efforts to engage local artists, businesses, and residents. You’ll gain hands-on experience in project management, event coordination, marketing, and communications while working closely with a supportive team.
Revelstoke is a vibrant, close-knit community nestled in the stunning Monashee and Selkirk Mountains, known for its outdoor recreation, cultural richness, and a growing arts scene. As part of Arts Revelstoke, you’ll be contributing to a dynamic organization that fosters creativity, supports local artists, and enhances the cultural fabric of the town. This position offers mentorship, job shadowing, and networking opportunities with artists, community leaders, and industry professionals. You’ll also have access to training in digital marketing, public relations, and event management, setting you up for a successful career in the arts or nonprofit sectors.

The ideal candidate for the position is a dynamic, organized, and creative individual with a passion for community-driven initiatives, arts, and cultural engagement. This person should possess strong project management skills, an ability to build relationships across diverse community groups, and an interest in public art and its impact on local culture. A hands-on attitude, combined with excellent communication and organizational skills, will be key to success in this role.
Education: Working towards a degree history, humanities, art history, fine arts, or a related field
Desired Experience:
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Google Suite, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram), and basic graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator).
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, time management, ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, and a passion for fostering community engagement through art.

This position pays the Revelstoke living wage of $25.50 an hour. The position will run from 2025-07-02 to 2025-10-02 (13 weeks).
