Since emigrating to Canada in 2002, Chris Ronald has amassed a repertoire that spans the folk spectrum and reflects both his British and Canadian backgrounds. As a teenager listening to the likes of Neil Young, Paul Simon, Ralph McTell, and the like,Ronald got hooked on songwriting when he put to music a poem he wrote in high school. However, he only started to go public after he moved to Vancouver and self-produced his first two albums. Ronald made a breakthrough with his third album,Timeline, which was produced by John Ellis and gained him a nomination for‘Songwriter of the Year’ at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. He was swiftly signed by esteemed Canadian folk label Borealis Records and has since released two more albums. Both Fragments and Light & Dark-also produced by John Ellis-achieved top10 on the international Folk Radio chart. In live performance Chris draws on his abilities as a skilled singer, storyteller and musician(guitar, ukulele, harmonica). Though an accomplished soloist, he often tours with John Ellis from Vancouver Island. John is an award-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist who flits effortlessly between guitar, dobro, mandolin, and banjo. He has worked with top Canadian talent such as Colin James, Ferron, and Jane Siberry.
