LIGHT TRAFFIC AHEAD

LIGHT TRAFFIC AHEAD is both a representation and a critique of the most common form of oppression: an obstacle, placed in your way by someone who doesn’t even know you.

LIGHT TRAFFIC AHEAD is both a representation and a critique of the most common form of oppression: an obstacle, placed in your way by someone who doesn’t even know you.

It says, behold: I was here first, and I have decided which paths you may take. My reasons are my own, and your arguments will go unheard.

Yet this control is a pliable thing. In this art piece, there is a path of least resistance; the curtains show the direction you are “intended” to walk. But the lights easily part by touch, they sway in a breeze, they invite the viewer to walk right through and feel the strands brush by.

Resistance can be anything, after all. Even an act of play.
