“Wasteland Ghosts” is an installation of forged steel Sculptural Masks by underground artist and Blacksmith Lashen Orendorff. The piece highlights the human relationship to landscape and the spectre of industrial history. Much of the material used in this work has been sourced from abandoned industrial sites and interstitial zones within the Kootenay region: scrap steel now transformed into vessels of local mythology, serving as reminders of both the tangible and intangible elements of grief and landscape desecration.
