Led by Jenna Aldus, this collaborative youth installation offers a contemporary take on the French Surrealist game The Exquisite Corpse, or cadavre exquis. Over several evenings at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre, young creatives designed individual arms, legs, and heads without knowing how their pieces would ultimately come together.
That element of surprise is at the heart of the project. The final composition remained a mystery until everyone’s contributions were assembled, revealing a surreal and unexpected figure shaped by many imaginations. There’s a special kind of beauty in creating together—embracing the unknown, celebrating individual contributions, and discovering what’s possible when they become part of something larger.
