Our lives under a colonial, capitalist system of oppression are a lived reality in which most people are immersed to the point where sometimes it can be hard to imagine any other existence, where the resistance to this warped vision of the world that has continued since more than five hundred years ago is often unseen by those who are not themselves rooted in it. With this installation, we invite you to immerse yourself in a world where the system and its perpetrators are unmasked and seen for who they are, and where you feel the urgency of resistance as the only path forward to the survival of humanity, figuratively and literally. We seek to inspire people to question the systems that repress and oppress on all levels, and to feel empowered to take a part in the resistance, not just with words but with action, finding collective strength through intersectional struggle. This installation is not meant to be viewed passively, but to help us move beyond a freeze response into meaningful change, to manifest a world where many worlds fit as the Zapatistas say, and to shape a path of love, empathy and equality for our future generations to preserve the beauty of humanity.
