“Cog in the Machine” is a reflection of how Jacqui Gardiner (one of THE STUDIO Artistic Directors) felt living in a large city, absorbed into a corporate machine. She felt she had lost touch with her creative side and mimicked the people around her as an attempt to fit in. Feeling a complete loss of self and what she was meant to focus her life on. The piece finishes with the literal removal of the mask that had been holding her both back from experiencing more out of life.
