Singer-songwriter iskwē | ᐃᐢᑫᐧᐤ (short for waseskwan iskwew, meaning “blue sky woman”) is a storyteller whose music bridges the past and future. Her creativity soars through ambient sound effects, beats, and spine-tingling vocals, blending electronic rhythms with Indigenous sounds rooted in her Cree Métis heritage. iskwē’s genre-bending catalog includes three full-length albums powered by resilience and emotion. Her 2017 debut, The Fight Within, speaks to self-love in the face of hate, while 2019’s acākosīk calls out systematic abuses against Canada’s Indigenous peoples, featuring the JUNO award-winning song “Little Star.” Her 2022 collaborative project, Mother Love with Tom Wilson, reflects on love and culture.
