Loose Moose’s best and most experienced performers take turns directing each other in improvised scenes. The audience decides if the director did a good job or not by voting for awarding a “banana” or punishment by the dreaded “forfeit”. The director with the most bananas at the end of the show wins a weeks quality time with our resident gorilla.
The Loose Moose Theatre Company, was formed in Calgary in 1977, has an international reputation for innovation and excellence in improvisational theatre. Techniques for training and presenting improvisation which have been created by co-founder and former Artistic Director Keith Johnstone, and developed at Loose Moose are currently used worldwide. The Loose Moose also acts as a training centre for individuals interested in improvisational theatre, and we are very proud of our many alumni that are now working in the areas of film, television, and stage.
