Ballet Kelowna Presents:
MAMBO and Other Works features nine dancers performing a mixed program of three works by BC-based choreographers commissioned by Ballet Kelowna. The show ranges from mesmerizing traditional and contemporary ballet en pointe to fiery Argentine tango-inspired dance in stunning group formations, set to Vivaldi, Latin, swing and jazz.
1723 – Vivaldi (2017): A dynamic work by Wen Wei Wang, 1723 – Vivaldi, features gorgeous partnering, extreme extensions, and complex pointe work for the women.
Cuatro Estaciones (2019): An evocative tango-inspired ensemble piece by Ballet Kelowna’s visionary Artistic Director, Simone Orlando, set to virtuoso composer Astor Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
MAMBO (2018): Alysa Pires’ crowd-pleasing MAMBO is a colourful joie de vivre set to a vibrant soundtrack of Latin, Swing, and Jazz standards.
Current Interior Health regulations permit the theatre to operate at 50% capacity.
